NAFTA works against the common American.

I don't have a problem with free trade (no government gets to collect for work they did not do). But if you read through NAFTA it works against the common American. In some cases our own government is subsidizing foreign workers! I remember one of the things that Bush Sr. ran around saying was that jobs wouldn't go to Mexico because they didn't have the infrastructor to support big business. What he forgot to mention was the US was making interest free loans to Mexico to build the infrastructor and there were even conditions where the money would not need to be paid back. That was in 1992. In 1996 Clinton signed in a tax bill that gave a huge tax break to companies if they moved off shore. What!! Did you know that there is 1 building in the Caymens that has 450,000 business housed at that address? Every single one of them are US corporations. This was done in conjunction with Clints tax bill. Of course none of the business are actually there. This was done so that friends of wealthy politicans could take advantage of the tax break will the common man languished.

This is just a few examples there are tons and tons of this stuff down by politicans so that they and their friends would profit. This is an unfair advantage. I have been reading about all the regulations that NObama just added, quess who prospers? Big banks prosper from the new regulations, the regulations themselves will put a lot of little banks out of business. Which means those who are not already at a big bank will have to move to a big bank. Once enough of the little guys are gone the big banks will just tac on new fees to cover the cost of the new regulations. And once again the common man languishes.

I tell you the whole thing is disgusting.

Structure of Excuses

But don’t bother asking for evidence that justifies this bleak view. There isn’t any. On the contrary, all the facts suggest that high unemployment in America is the result of inadequate demand — full stop. Saying that there are no easy answers sounds wise, but it’s actually foolish: our unemployment crisis could be cured very quickly if we had the intellectual clarity and political will to act.

In other words, structural unemployment is a fake problem, which mainly serves as an excuse for not pursuing real solutions.

Soros Recent Additions & Largest Positions

According to his fund's latest filings with the SEC (as of March 31), Soros has been adding to his already large overweight positions in the oil & gas sector. His largest stock holding remains Brazilian oil giant Petrobras, which trades in the U.S. via an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) with the ticker symbol PBR. Petrobras is a vertically integrated oil company, participating in exploration, production, refining and retailing of crude oil and gas.

Soros' funds also added to positions in Canadian energy producer Suncor Energy (NYSE:SU), and Houston-based oil & natural gas producer Petrohawk Energy (NYSE:HK). All told, Soros has about 30% of his long investments the oil & gas space - more than twice the weighting of the S&P 500 index.

Smaller positions that saw buying during the first quarter include Apple Inc. (Nasdaq:AAPL), Goodyear Tire & Rubber (NYSE:GT), Lawson Software (Nasdaq:LWSN), CVS Caremark (NYSE:CVS) and DirecTV (Nasdaq:DTV).

Gold Remains on Top
Precious metal remains the number-one overall holding, as Soros has nearly 10% of his assets invested the SPDR Gold Trust ETF (GLD). He also owns call options which could increase his ownership stake in the coming months.
